NVIDIA Spectrum SN2000 series switches are the second generation of NVIDIA switches, designed to handle leaf/spine/super-spine datacenter applications. SN2700 offers 3.2Tb/s throughput, 32 100GbE ports, and a 4.76Bpps processing capacity within a compact 1RU form factor. This module supports speeds ranging from 1GbE to 100GbE per port and a variety of QSFP transceivers. It features a flat latency of 300ns in cut-through mode and a dynamically allocated 16MB packet buffer pool on congested ports.

An SN2700 switch is an ideal spine and top-of-rack (ToR) switch, allowing maximum flexibility, providing fast port speeds to 100Gb/s for each port, as well as port density for full rack connectivity. There are a variety of blocking ratios available for the uplink ports to meet the needs of any application. SN2700 switches are ONIE (Open Network Install Environment)-based devices that support a variety of operating systems while utilizing Open Ethernet and Mellanox Spectrum ASIC capabilities.
SN2700 operates in three modes:

SN2700 provides 10GbE through 100GbE interconnectivity within the data center as part of Mellanox's complete end-to-end solution. This solution also includes ConnectX network interface cards and LinkX copper or fiber cables. Mellanox NEO, a management application, completes this end-to-end solution. This application alleviates many of the challenges associated with deploying a network. Through NEO, fully certified and interoperable designs can be developed faster, resulting in a faster return on investment.
SN2700 offers superior hardware features including dynamic flexible shared buffers and predictable wire speed performance without packet loss. SN2700 is powered by Spectrum, which provides thrust and acceleration, but its powerful x86-based processor gives it yet another angle of capabilities.
The system can be used as a switch fabric element that is not only the most powerful but also can be used as a Linux server. As a result, this creates a powerful machine with unique appliance capabilities that enhance numerous network implementation paradigms by harnessing CPU processing power and switching fabrics. Mellanox offers the SN2700B series for the 40/10GbE market, while SN2700 is aimed at 100/50/25GbE. SN2000B switches provide NVIDIA Spectrum's superior feature set at a price that makes them appropriate for 10/40 GbE markets. In addition to being standards-compliant, the SN2000 series is fully interoperable with third-party systems.

With its monolithic packet buffer, Spectrum is able to support cut-through line rate traffic from all ports, without compromising scale or features. The fast packet buffer in Spectrum offers mission-critical applications a fair and bottleneck-free data path.
Pervasive Visibility :
Network operators can reduce mean time to recovery or innocence by proactively managing issues with Spectrum's deep and contextual network visibility. The WJH platform provides granular and event-triggered information on infrastructure issues based on the underlying silicon and software. Also, third-party software tools and workflow engines can integrate with Spectrum's open APIs to access the extensive telemetry.
