Sustained Network Performance
InfiniBand routers SB7780 and SB7880 are based on Switch-IB and Switch-IB 2 ASICs, respectively. Their 36 EDR 100Gb/s ports offer full flexibility and can be split among several subnets. Two major advantages of InfiniBand routers are:
Ensure data center resiliency by splitting the network into several subnets that run their own subnet managers effectively isolating them from each other
Isolate login access to each compute subnet while enabling multiple compute-to-storage connections
A+ DESIGN: SB7780 and SB7880 InfiniBand router provide high performance, serviceability, energy efficiency, and availability. There are two highly efficient, 80 gold+, and Energy Star-certified power supplies. Due to their best-in-class design, the EDR IB routers have a low power consumption, with an ATIS-weighted consumption of 122W. As a result, more power is saved if not all ports are utilized. In addition to redundant power supplies (1+1) and fans (N+1), SB7780 / SB7880 also have air shutters for maximum thermal protection.
MANAGEMENT: MLNX-OS software manages the router's firmware, power supplies, fans, and ports through its dual-core x86 CPU. To manage InfiniBand computing environments scaled out, the router can be coupled with Mellanox' Unified Fabric Manager (UFM). Using AI-powered cyber intelligence and analytics, UFM products revolutionize data center management. By detecting and responding quickly to security threats, operational issues, and predicting failures, UFM solutions minimize downtime.
