airtel jio 5g

Is Airtel and Jio going to increase their 5G charge by 5-10% of the 4G Plan in 2024?

India's top two telecoms network giants, Airtel and Jio, have long been at the forefront of technological advancements. Both Bharat Airtel and Reliance Jio initially launched their 5G services in October 2022, and they still offer it at 4G prices. However, their primary aim is to focus on their 5G Monetization and adoption of 5G Networks which are increasing at National levels. So, they are likely to put an end to their 5G plans in the second half of 2024 and will increase tariffs from 5 - 10% more than existing 4G tariffs. While offering 30% to 40% of additional data to improve their adoption, will increase their 5G segment in the market share. From the recent report of Bofa ( Bank of America Securities), India’s telecom network providers will raise their mobile tariffs by a significant 20% after the general election which is held in April - May. As per the guess, Airtel will be the first operator to raise a tariff hike followed by other operators such as Jio, Vodafone, and Idea. Reliance Jio chairman, Mukesh Ambani recently said that they completed the rollout of the 5G network in India last month, and his executive pointed out that Jio’s 5G network reached out of all towns and cities in India.

Note: Jio Mixed their 5G wireless spectrum across 700 MHz on 3.5 GHz and 26 GHz bands. Among the Indian operators, Jio is the only one with 700 MHz spectrum.
