NVIDIA MFP7E20-Nxxx is a multimode 1×2 splitter fiber cable designed to convert a single 4-channel MPO-12/APC interface into two 2-channel outputs, enabling smooth fan-out from 800G OSFP DR8 modules to 400G OSFP or QSFP112 transceivers. It uses 8 active fibers with an Aqua LSZH-OFNR jacket, providing stable, low-loss performance for dense data-centre environments.
With its Type-B crossover polarity, the cable ensures correct lane mapping between transceivers while maintaining excellent optical integrity through angle-polished (APC) connectors. Fully tested for durability and signal reliability, it is ideal for short-reach server, switch, and DPU interconnections across NVIDIA platforms such as ConnectX-7 and BlueField-3.

APPLICATIONS:
High-speed optical interconnects in data centers:
The MFP7E20-Nxxx splitter cable is designed for short-reach, high-capacity optical links inside hyperscale and enterprise data centers. It enables a single 800Gb/s twin-port OSFP transceiver to connect to two 400Gb/s OSFP or QSFP112 transceivers, effectively splitting a 4-channel link into two 2-channel links. Its MPO-12/APC connectors and LSZH jacket ensure high signal integrity, easy installation, and long-term reliability in dense rack deployments. The cable’s precise construction reduces optical loss and maintains consistent performance across multiple link connections. Its robust design supports frequent insertions and removals without degradation, making it ideal for dynamic, high-density networking setups.
Switch-to-Switch optical backbone links:
Ideal for creating optical backbones between twin-port OSFP 800G switches using Type-B crossover polarity. This ensures proper lane alignment and preserves optical performance under continuous high-load operation. The precision-aligned fibers reduce insertion loss and return loss, maintaining a stable, high-speed backbone for leaf-spine and mesh topologies. The cable also allows simplified network scaling by splitting a single high-speed transceiver to multiple endpoints without additional transceivers. Its construction minimizes crosstalk between fibers, ensuring low latency and reliable throughput in backbone networks.
Switch-to-Server connectivity for HPC and AI clusters:
Used to link OSFP or QSFP112 transceivers to ConnectX-7 network adapters and BlueField-3 DPUs in compute or storage servers. It supports AI workloads, distributed training, RDMA acceleration, and high-throughput storage access. The multimode fibers with APC polish maintain high signal fidelity for demanding HPC, cloud, and AI environments. The cable’s flexible jacket allows neat routing within server racks while reducing stress on optical fibers. Its high-quality materials provide excellent durability, ensuring long-term reliability even in heavily trafficked HPC clusters.
InfiniBand NDR and 400GbE Ethernet deployments:
Optimized for NVIDIA InfiniBand NDR and 400GbE optical transceivers like MMA4Z00-NS DR8. The MPO-12/APC interface minimizes reflections and improves link stability during continuous data transfer. Its crossover Type-B design ensures correct lane mapping, eliminating misalignment errors for reliable high-speed transmission. This cable maintains consistent signal integrity across multiple switch-to-switch and switch-to-adapter connections. It is ideal for high-performance Ethernet fabrics in both HPC and enterprise environments, where precision and reliability are critical.
NVLink GPU and accelerated compute networking:
Provides a robust optical path for GPU-accelerated systems using NVLink-based data movement. Enables high-bandwidth communication between switches, DPUs, and GPU servers, ensuring consistent performance for AI training and inference workloads. The low-loss MPO connectors support uninterrupted high-speed communication in accelerated compute clusters. Its design reduces signal degradation even in long or complex cable runs, maintaining optimal GPU interconnect performance. The cable also supports modular expansion, allowing additional servers or GPUs to be integrated without disrupting existing connections.
Structured multimode fiber cabling in enterprise networks:
Designed for multimode Aqua-jacket deployments across data halls, server aggregation zones, and storage racks. The LSZH jacket reduces toxic smoke in fire events, making it safe for regulated environments. Flexible and durable, it supports easy routing and management in tight spaces, ideal for high-density structured cabling in enterprise and cloud data centers. The cable’s round design simplifies installation in cable trays and conduits, minimizing bending stress on fibers. Its high-quality connectors and precision alignment reduce maintenance requirements and downtime in large-scale deployments.
